Gloucester Road and Damers Road, Dorchester - – Temporary Closures and Parking Suspensions due to Gas Works
What is happening?

Temporary Traffic Management Order of Various Roads, Dorchester
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 1 August 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 26 August 2025.
This Order will enable SGN, safe access to replace gas main.The effect of this Order will be:
[1] To impose temporary road closure on Gloucester Road from its junction with Damers Road to Maiden Castle House
[2] To impose temporary road closure on Marie Road from its junction with Damers Road for a distance of approximately 25metres
[3] To impose temporary parking suspension on Damers Road between nos. 97 & 107
[4] To impose temporary parking suspension on Damers Road between its junctions with Woodbury Road and Fourgates Road
An alternative vehicular route will be signed using: Gloucester Road: Bridport Road - Damers Road Marie Road: Marie Road - Gloucester Road - Alice Road - Damers Road.
