What is happening?

Essex County Council

(Woodside Avenue, Thundersley) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the Order: To temporarily close that length of Woodside Avenue, Thundersley in the Borough of Castle Point, from its junction with Oak Walk to its junction with Seamore Avenue, a distance of approximately 205m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 14th August 2025 for 19 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AZ5021010930007 – Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while remedial works are undertaken by Cadent.

An alternative route is available via Woodside Avenue, Runnymede, Laburnum Lane, Stansted Road, Seamore Avenue and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 31st July 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Chelmsford Road, Rawreth) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the Order: To temporarily close that length of Chelmsford Road, Rawreth in the District of Rochford, from a point approximately 150m north west of its junction with Beeches Road for a distance of approximately 35m in north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 4th August 2025 for 2 nights (21:00-05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP2011H0004275 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while bridge inspection works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Chelmsford Road, A1245, Hawk Hill and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 17th July 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(East Mayne, Basildon) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the Order: To temporarily close that length of East Mayne, Basildon in the District of Basildon, from a point approximately 245m south west of its junction with the East Mayne Roundabout for a distance of approximately 145m in both directions. The closure is scheduled to commence on 4th August 2025 for 14 nights (20:00-05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP20120396236 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while drainage refurbishment works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via East Mayne Roundabout, A1321, A176, A1235, A132 and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 17th July 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Little Wakering Road, Barling Magna) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the Order: To temporarily close that length of Little Wakering Road, Barling Magna in the District of Rochford, from a point approximately 380m south of its junction with Church Road for a distance of approximately 65m in southerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 4th August 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP2012H083889 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while drainage investigation and jetting works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Little Wakering Road, Barling Road, Silchester Corner, Southend Road, Little Wakering Road and vice versa.

(Pitsea Bypass, Bowers Gifford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the Order: To temporarily close that length of Pitsea Bypass, Bowers Gifford in the Borough of Basildon, from a point approximately 1745m north east to south east of its junction with Broadway Link for a distance of approximately 680m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 5th August 2025 for 2 nights (21:00–05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP2011H0004276 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while structure repair works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via A130, A130 New Bypass, A130.

The Order came into effect on 17th July 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
