Hayton Byway No.6 And No.10 - Temporary Closure For Damaged Track Surface
What is happening?
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF BYWAYS
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(HAYTON BYWAY NO.6 AND NO.10)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) CONTINUATION NO.2 ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Secretary of State Transport in pursuance of the powers conferred by Sections 14 and 15 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 approves of “The Nottinghamshire County Council (Hayton Byway No.6 and No.10) (Temporary Prohibition) Notice 2025” (which came into force on 29th January 2025 and was continued in force by a Continuation Order until 28th July 2025 inclusive) being extended and continuing in force until 28th July 2026 or until completion of the relevant works, whichever is the sooner.
The Order has the following effect:-
No person shall: -
(a) proceed on foot,
(b) cause any pedal cycle to proceed,
(c) cause any horse to proceed,
(d) cause any animal to proceed or
(e) cause any vehicle to proceed
in the following lengths of Byway at Hayton in the District of Bassetlaw: - Hayton Byway No.6, from Main Street to the junction with Hayton Byway No.27
Hayton Byway No.10, from Main Street to the junction with Hayton Byway No.27
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route is Hayton Byway No.27 and Hayton Byway No.4 and vice versa.
If the works are not completed within the above period the Order may be extended for a longer period with the further approval of the Secretary of State for Transport.
The prohibition is required to protect public safety due to badly damaged track surface on both byways.
