East Hanningfield Road - Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic For Underground Cabling Works

What is happening?

(East Hanningfield Road, Sandon) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of East Hanningfield Road, Sandon in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 75m north west of its junction with Southlands Chase for a distance of approximately 35m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 18th August 2025 for 4 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30095377494 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while upgrade connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

An alternative route is available via East Hanningfield Road, Southend Road, Main Road and vice versa (with access only into East Hanningfield Road, Main Road, The Tye, The Common).

The Order will come into effect on 31st July 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Southend Arterial Road Slip Road from West Mayne To A127 Westbound, Dunton) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Southend Arterial Road Slip Road From West Mayne To A127 Westbound, Dunton in the Borough of Basildon, from its junction with West Mayne Roundabout to its junction with Southend Arterial Road a distance of 380m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 20th August 2025 for 2 nights (21:00-05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WFRPT73FSB – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while underground cabling works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via West Mayne Roundabout, Southend Arterial Road Slip Road From West Mayne To A127 Eastbound, Fortune of War Rounabout, Southend Arterial Road Slip Road From A127 To Noak Hill Road Eastbound, Upper Mayne, Burches Roundabout, Southend Arterial Road To Upper Mayne Link Road, Southend Arterial Road.

The Order will come into effect on 31st July 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
