Moor Road - Temporary Prohibition of Driving For Bridge Maintenance Works
What is happening?
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(MOOR ROAD, BESTWOOD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2025 (G25-102)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council has made an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Bestwood in the Borough of Gedling
The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road
a. Moor Road, Bestwood - 200 metres north of the junction with Mill Lane for a distance of 100 metres
2. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
3. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:
From 20:00 hours until 04:00 hours only From Monday 28th July until Saturday 2nd August 2025 inclusive.
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:
Papplewick Lane - Station Road - Portland Road - Nottingham Road - Hucknall Lane - Moor Bridge - Bestwood Road & Vice Versa
The Order will come into force on 28th July 2025 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).
The prohibition is required to enable Alfred & Bagnall’s to carry out detailed bridge maintenance works;
