Cross Keys Street & Chadderton Street - Temporary Prohibition Of Vehicular Traffic For Development Works

What is happening?

MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)

Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends, in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s): ORDER NO. MCC144241558: The City of Manchester (Cross Keys Street & Chadderton Street, Piccadilly Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Cross Keys Street from Bendix Street to Goulden Street and on Chadderton Street from Goulden Street to Bendix Street. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Thompson Street, Rochdale Road, Addington Street, Cross Keys Street & Marshall Street, Chadderton Street, Addington Street, Oldham Road, Thompson Street & Thompson Street, Oldham Road, Swan Street, Rochdale Road, Addington Street, Cross Keys Street. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate development works. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 8th August 2025 to 29th January 2027. The order shall come into operation on 8th August 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
