TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)
Notice is hereby given that the City Council has made the following Temporary Road Traffic Order:
ORDER NO. MCC000144589254: The City of Manchester (Pottery Lane, Gorton & Abbey Hey Ward) (Temporary Closure of Cycle Lane) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit any pedal cycle (and any pedestrian) from proceeding at any time in the following length of cycle lane: on Pottery Lane from Ashton Old Road to Miles Street on both sides of the road. The City of Manchester (Ashton Old Road, Gorton & Abbey Hey Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Left-Hand Turn) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit the left-hand turn from Ashton Old Road onto Pottery Lane. The alternative routes for traffic will be Ashton Old Road, Chancellor Lane, Devonshire Street North, Hyde Road, Pottery Lane. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate the installation of a new electricity cable. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 26th July 2025 to 14th September 2025. The order shall come into operation on 26th July 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
ORDER NO. MCC144601492: The City of Manchester (Church Lane, Harpurhey Ward)(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Church Lane From Fernclough road to Vernon street. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Upper Conran Street, Moston Lane, Routledge Walk, Kenyon Lane, Lightbowne Road, Church Lane. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate replacement gas mains. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 28th July 2025 to 15th August 2025. The order shall come into operation on 28th July 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin Gillham.
