NOTICE OF PROPOSAL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(CROOKED LANE AND TITHEBARN STREET, PRESTON, PRESTON CITY) (REVOCATION, ONE WAY TRAFFIC AND BUS ONLY STREET) ORDER 202*
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council propose to make the above Traffic Regulation Order under Sections 1, 2 and 4 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to:
1. Revoke the following:
a) The "Lancashire County Council (Bus Station Southern Access, Lord Street And Tithebarn Street, Preston, Preston City) (Revocation, Bus Only Street And Bus Gate) Order 2021" insofar as it relates to Schedule 3;
b) "The Borough Of Preston (Central Area)(No.2) Traffic Regulation Order 1992" insofar as it relates to Item 8 (i) of Part II;
c) "The County Borough Of Preston (Traffic Regulation) Order (No.1) 1938" insofar as it relates to One Way Traffic in Crooked Lane, for the whole length from east to west.
2. Introduce on way traffic in Crooked Lane, Preston, from its junction with Lancaster Road to its junction with Tithebarn Street, west to east.
3. Introduce a bus only street, except taxis and authorised vehicles in Tithebarn Street, Preston, both sides from its junction with Old Vicarage to its junction with Crooked Lane.
NB in accordance with section 3(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the council is satisfied that for facilitating the passage of vehicular traffic on the road it is requisite that the provisions of section 3(1) the Act should not apply to the restriction referred to herein.
A copy of the draft Order and associated documents for proposing to make the Order may be inspected during normal office hours at the offices of Preston City Council, PO Box 10, Town Hall, Lancaster Road, Preston, PR1 2RL and at the offices of The Director of Law and Governance, Lancashire County Council, County Hall, Fishergate, Preston PR1 8XJ, and on Lancashire County Councils Website
