THE CITY OF SUNDERLAND
(DURHAM ROAD FOOTPATH)
Temporary traffic regulation ORDER 2025

Sunderland City Council gives notice that on 24th July 2025 it made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which is to temporarily prohibit all pedestrian traffic from the section of footpath described in the schedule. The Order is required to allow for building construction and cladding works to take place on or near the footpath. The order comes into force on 30th July 2025. The maximum duration of the closure under the Order will be six months. However, it is anticipated that the works will take approximately ten weeks. All pedestrians will be prohibited from that section of footpath described in the schedule (except for personnel involved in the works), until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs.
An alternative route will be provided via the adjacent highway network.
Schedule Durham Road footpath from the extended south-western property boundary of Springwell House Health Centre to its junction with North Moor Road.
Dated: 25th July 2025.
