Medina Road - Temporary Road Closure
What is happening?

Portsmouth City Council (Medina Road) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Prohibition of Loading and Waiting) (No.124) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 28th July 2025 and the effect will be as follows:
A) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING
MEDINA ROAD
From its junction with Greenwood Avenue to its junction with Sixth Avenue.
OLD WYMERING LANE
From its junction with Medina Road to its junction with Wymering Manor Close.
COW LANE
From its junction with Medina Road to its junction with Lower Farm Drive.
B) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate gas works.
C) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 28th July 2025 to 5th September 2025 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
D) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted from:
Medina Road: Greenwood Avenue, Old Wymering Lane, Herne Road, Sixth Avenue. (Access maintained for Jubilee House.)
Old Wymering Lane: Medina Road,Northern Road, Portsbridge Roundabout, Western Road, Northarbour Road, Cow Lane.
Cow Lane: Northarbour Road, Western Road, Portsbridge Roundabout, Northern Road, (Access maintained for SSE).
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the works.
Cycles to follow vehicle diversion or dismount and follow pedestrian diversion around the works.
