Shropshire - Various Temporary Road Traffic Restrictions

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER/S -
PUBLIC NOTICES OF INTENTION
NOTICE is hereby given that Shropshire Council (“the Council”) intend, not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order/s under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 (as amended), the effect of which is to restrict the use of road/s as stated below. The Order/s for restriction is/are required for the purpose/s as stated below. There are exceptions in the Order/s to permit pedestrian access (and/or vehicular
access at the discretion of the Council or Statutory Undertaker) to any land or premises having a frontage to the said highway affected where there is no other form of access, and to any access allowing the necessary works to be undertaken. Access will be maintained for cyclists, pedestrians and dismounted horse riders unless stated below. The alternative route/s for those affected by the proposal/s is/are as stated below.
It is intended that the proposed restriction/s will come into force on the 4th August 2025 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months (unless extended upon the direction of the Secretary of State) or until any said works which it is proposed to be carried out have been completed, whichever is the earlier. However, it is expected the Order will only be operative for the duration as stated in below.
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using B4371 Sandford Avenue East and West of A49 Crossways, Church Stretton there will also be a 7.5 Weight restriction on the B5477 between All Stretton and Little Stretton (A49 junctions)
Date & Duration: 4th August 2025 for 54 nights Monday to Friday Evenings between 20:00 to 06:00
Purpose: Carriageway Pavement works on A49 Church Stretton.
Alternative Route : A49, A5, A458, B4368, A49
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Albert Street, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 6th August 2025 for 2 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Severn Trent Water, long comm pipe cut off.
Alternative Route : Victoria Street, Severn Street, Beacalls Lane or Beacalls Lane, The Dana, Victoria Street
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using B4555 Woodhill Road, Highley
Date & Duration: 10th August 2025 for 1 day and 17th August 2025 between 08:00 to 22:00
Purpose: Road Closure-Cadent - New connection
Alternative Route : B4555, B4363, B4555
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Beatrice Street, Oswestry
Date & Duration: 10th August 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure - New Gas Service.
Alternative Route : B5069, A483, B4579
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Candle Lane, Woore
Date & Duration: 4th August 2025 for 5 days between 09:30 to 15:30
Purpose: Road Closure - Work on underground cable.
Alternative Route : A51, A525
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Castle Street, Bishops Castle
Date & Duration: 5th August 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water - Short Com renew
Alternative Route : B4385, Schoolhouse Lane, Salop Street, Market Square, Welsh Street
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Chapel Lane, Quatford
Date & Duration: 4th August 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-Openreach-MJ Quinn are to replace 1 x decayed wooden BT pole

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Church Road, Condover
Date & Duration: 8th August 2025 from 20:00 to 06:00 9th August 2025
Purpose: Road Closure - Severn Trent Water, remedial works to rectify defective reinstatement.
Alternative Route : Unnamed road South East, Unnamed road West towards Wheathill, Unnamed road North and North West, Unnamed road North East.
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Cross Hill, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 4th August 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Severn Trent Water, short comm pipe renew.
Alternative Route : Beeches Lane, Town Walls, Murivance, Lower Claremont Bank or St Johns Hill
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Duken Lane, Six Ashes
Date & Duration: 6th August 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-Openreach-Installing new poles
Alternative Route : Unnamed road North East, A458, Unnamed road South West
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Eastwick Lane, Dudleston Heath
Date & Duration: 7th August 2025 between 09:30 to 15:00
Purpose: Road Closure - Pole test

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Haughton Lane, Shifnal
Date & Duration: 4th August 2025 for 54 days
Purpose: Road Closure-National Grid-785m trenching in tarmac road for new supply

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Hollow Ash Lane, Alveley
Date & Duration: 4th August 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road CLosure-Openreach-MJ Quinn are to replace 1 x decayed wooden BT pole

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Kingston Drive, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 4th August 2025 for 43 days
Purpose: Cadent Gas - Reinforcement works due to rectify pressure issues.

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Leyburn Avenue, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 4th August 2025 for 5 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Severn Trent Water, works to repair waste water pipe.
