Construction of Road Humps – Station Road, Yate
Details of the proposed changes
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in exercise of the powers conferred by section 90A of the Highways Act 1980 (hereinafter called ‘the Act’) and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the chief officer of police in accordance with section 90C(1) of the Act and those bodies or persons prescribed by the Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999 (hereinafter called ‘the Regulations’) and in accordance with section 90C(2) of the Act intends to construct a road hump in the form of a speed table centred at a point approximately 150m west of its junction with Broadway.
A new parallel crossing will be centred on the speed table.
The road humps will extend over the full width of the carriageway and be 8m in length (not including the ramps) and 75mm in maximum height, subject to the tolerances permitted in the Regulations. All distances and measurements are approximate and subject to construction tolerance.

(Public Footpath LIA/21/10, Yate) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Foot Passengers) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to foot passengers the entire length of Public Footpath LIA/21/10.
This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon construction works.
The order will be operative from 18 August 2025 for a maximum period of six months.
The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 6 months duration.
Alternative route: Dyers Lane, Iron Acton Way and vice versa.
(Little Bristol Lane, Charfield) (No.2) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of road specified in column 1 of the Schedule of this notice.
This order is required for the following reason: in connection with Charfield Station platform installation works.
The order will be operative from 18 August 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works.
It is anticipated that the works at each location will be carried out between the dates specified in column 2 of the said Schedule.

(Highfields Close, Stoke Gifford) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the entire length of Highfields Close.
This order is required for the following reason: in connection with ducting works.
The order will be operative from 18 August 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 days duration.
No alternative route available: Dead end road.
(Public Footpath Church Road to Highfields Close) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Foot Passengers) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to foot passengers the entire length of Public Footpath Church Road to Highfields Close.
This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon ducting works.
The order will be operative from 18 August 2025 for a maximum period of six months.
The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 days duration.
Alternative route: Church Road, Hambrook Lane, Highfields Close and vice versa.
(Latteridge Road, Iron Acton) (No.2) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Latteridge Road which extends from Northmead Lane westwards for 150m.
This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon level crossing works on or adjacent to the highway.
The order became operative from 2 August 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 2 days duration, between 2pm on 02/08/2025 to 9pm on 03/08/2025.
Alternative route: B4059 Latteridge Road, B4427 Church Road, A38 Gloucester Road, B4509 Charfield Road, B4058 Wotton Road, B4058 Bristol Road, B4058 Bagstone Road, B4058 Wotton Road, B4059 Bristol Road and vice versa.

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Webbs Wood Road (northbound) which extends from Webbs Wood Roundabout to Marjoram Place.
This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon Active Travel CRSTS works on or adjacent to the highway.
The order became operative from 28 July 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 5 weeks duration.
Alternative route: Bradley Stoke Way, Baileys Court Road, Webbs Wood Road (part unaffected).

The proposed development does not accord with the provisions of the development plan in force for the area in which the land to which the application relates is situated.
