Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Grove, Footpath No.235/3/30

Date of Order: 21 July 2025

Coming into force: 31 July 2025

This Order is being introduced for a rural footpath closure due to continued and increasing safety incidents at the rail crossings which must close in the interests of public safety. The route will be closed initially for 6 months whilst a review and future planning is undertaken. This is a 24-hour footpath closure.

The effect of the Order is to close temporarily that part of the footpath between the railway pedestrian stile leading across the rail line – beside Letcombe Brook.

Exemptions are included for emergency services and Network Rail.

There is no off-road alternative route. Cow Lane is the nearest road and considered the most suitable access for diverted pedestrian crossing advantage. Signage and maps will be displayed to indicate where the measures are in force. Ref: R1181/85.
