THE A49 TRUNK ROAD (MARSHBROOK TO CHURCH
STRETTON, SHROPSHIRE) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited
(Company No. 9346363) has made an order on the A49 Trunk Road, between Marshbrook and Church Stretton, in the County of Shropshire, to allow resurfacing and maintenance work to be carried out.
The effect of the Order will be to –
(1) close the A49 between its junction with the B4370, at Marshbrook and its junction with the B5477, at Church Stretton; and
(2) close any layby adjacent to the length of the A49 described in (1) above.
The carriageway closures will be carried weeknights only between 20:00 hours and 06:00 hours and are expected to start on Monday 4 August 2025 and continue for seven weeks. The layby closures will be closed for 24 hours a day from
14:00 hours on 4 August 2025 for the duration of the work. The Order will come into force on 28 July 2025.
Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority or ambulance purposes, and vehicles being used in connection with the works or for winter maintenance purposes will be exempt from the closures. Access to properties will be maintained at all times.
Diversion routes via the A5, the A458, the B4378 and the B4368 and vice versa will be signed.
