NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)
U9516 TWENTIETH AVENUE BLYTH
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council intends to make an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on that section of the U9516 Twentieth Avenue from a point at the front of house number 47 heading northwards for a distance of 208 metres in the County of Northumberland.

The Order is to be effective from the 15th August 2025 until the 18th August 2025. It is expected that the road will only be closed on the 15th August 2025 between the hours of 09:00 and 16:00; however, the order will remain in place until 18th August 2025.

An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being via Twentieth Avenue, Twentysixth Avenue, Twentyfifth Avenue, Newlands Road, Fifteenth Avenue, Sixth Avenue, Eighth Avenue and Twelfth Avenue and should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.

The closure has been requested by Northumbrian Water to carry out a CCTV survey of the sewer. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025
A189 SPINE ROAD (VARIOUS LOCATIONS)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council intends to make an Order which will prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on the following sections of roads in the County of Northumberland.

This Order will hereby further restrict the speed of vehicular traffic on the following sections of roads in the County of Northumberland.

The Order is to be effective from the 14th August 2025 until the 31st December 2026.

Road Closures:

•   A189 from Moor Farm roundabout to the Three Horse Shoes Roundabout northbound and southbound lanes for a distance of 9120 metres.

Expected work dates are yet to be confirmed however they will be signposted in advance of commencement of works.

An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being via the B1505 and should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.

•   A189 Annitsford to Moor Farm northbound and southbound lanes for a distance of 1740 metres.

Expected work dates are yet to be confirmed however they will be signposted in advance of commencement of works.

An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being via the B1505.

•   A189 Three Horse Shoes to Bebside northbound and southbound lanes for a distance of 5080 metres.

Expected work dates are yet to be confirmed however they will be signposted in advance of commencement of works.

An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being via the B1505, A193 and vice-versa.

•   A189 North Seaton Roundabout to Bedlington Interchange northbound and southbound lanes for a distance of 8460 metres.

It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 16th August 2025 until the 17th August 2025, between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 during this period.

An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being via the A1147, A196, B1334 and vice-versa.

•   A189 Woodhorn Roundabout to North Seaton Roundabout northbound and southbound lanes for a distance of 3520 metres.

It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 23rd August 2025 until the 24th August 2025, between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 during this period.

The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the B1334, A197 and vice-versa. It is expected that the southbound carriageway will only be closed from the 8th September 2025 until the 13th September 2025, between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 nightly during this period.

The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the A197 and B1334. A189 Bedlington Interchange to Bebside northbound and southbound lanes for a distance of 2700 metres.

It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 23rd August 2025 until the 24th August 2025, between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 during this period.

The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the B1331, A193 and vice versa.

A189 Spine Road Moor Farm to Kitty Brewster Bridge Northbound entrance and exit Slip Roads from its junction with B1505 Klondyke for a distance of 210 metres. It is expected that the roads will only be closed from the 28th August 2025 until the 26th September 2025, between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 during this period.

An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being via the B1505.

A189 Spine Road Moor Farm to Kitty Brewster Bridge southbound entrance Slip Road from its junction with B1326 Klondyke to Seaton Delaval for a distance of 240 metres.

It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 28th August 2025 until the 26th September 2025, between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 during this period.

An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being via the B1326, A192 and A1061. Speed Restrictions: 70mph down to 50mph

Speed restrictions will hereby further be in force on the following lengths of roads and no vehicular traffic shall travel in excess of 50mph on those roads as signposted:

•   A189 Spine Road Annitsford to Moor Farm for its entire length.

Expected work dates are yet to be confirmed however they will be signposted in advance of commencement of works.

•   A189 Spine Road Moor Farm to Kitty Brewster Bridge for its entire length.It is expected this restriction will be in operation from the 14th August 2025 until the 31st December 2025, the restriction will be in place at all times during this period.

•   A189 Spine Road Kitty Brewster Bridge to Woodhorn Round for its entire length Expected work dates are yet to be confirmed however they will be signposted in advance of commencement of works.

Speed Restrictions: 70mph down to 30mph

Speed restrictions will hereby further be in force on the following lengths of roads and no vehicular traffic shall travel in excess of 30mph on those roads as signposted:

•   A189 Spine Road Annitsford to Moor Farm for its entire length.

Expected work dates are yet to be confirmed however they will be signposted in advance of commencement of works.

•   A189 Spine Road Moor Farm to Kitty Brewster Bridge for its entire length.Expected work dates are yet to be confirmed however they will be signposted in advance of commencement of works.

•   A189 Northbound Carriageway starting from 165 metres northwards of its junction with Moor Farm Roundabout heading northwards for a distance of 4190 metres whilst contraflow and/or lane closures are in operation.

•   A189 Southbound Carriageway starting from its junction with the Southbound Exit Slip Road to Three Horse Shoes roundabout heading southwards for a distance of 4400 metres whilst contraflow and/or lane closures are in operation.

It is expected this restriction will be in operation from the 14th August 2025 until the 26th September 2025, this restriction will be in place at all times during this period.

•   A189 Spine Road Kitty Brewster Bridge to Woodhorn Round for its entire length Expected work dates are yet to be confirmed however they will be signposted in advance of commencement of works.

The Order for the above road closures and speed restrictions will remain in place until 31st December 2026.

The closure and restrictions have been requested by Northumberland County Council for carriageway resurfacing and cycling maintenance works and Morgan Sindall for continued works of the Northern Line Rail and Station development works. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)
U9536 CHIPCHASE COURT MELTON DRIVE FOOTWAY NEW HARTLEY
(TEMPORARY FOOTPATH CLOSURE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order to prohibit the use by pedestrian traffic on that section of the U9536 Chipchase Court Melton Drive Footway from its junction with Chipchase Court heading north eastwards for a distance of 50 metres in the County of Northumberland. The Order is to be effective from the 28th July 2025 until the 29th August 2025.

It is expected that the footway will only be closed from the 28th July 2025 until the 15th August 2025, the footway will be closed at all times during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 29th August 2025.

An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being via Chipchase Court, U9536 Chipchase Court Footway, U9536 Chipchase Court Bradbury Court Footway, U9536 Bradbury Court Footway, Bradbury Court and vice-versa and should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.

The closure has been requested by Northern Gas Networks to carry out gas pipe replacement works. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
(WAITING, LOADING & PARKING PLACES) (MAP BASED)
CONSOLIDATION ORDER 2024 VARIATION ORDER 12 (TRO_101_12)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council, in exercise of the powers conferred under sections 1 to 4, 32, 35, 45 and 46, 61 and 64 (as appropriate) and Part IV of schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Traffic Management Act 2004 and all other powers so enabling have made the abovenamed Order.

The effect of the Order, which will come into force on the 28th July 2025 will be to vary the “Northumberland County Council (Waiting, Loading & Parking Places) (Map Based) Consolidation Order 2024” by introducing the following parking restrictions in Blyth:

1) There will be no waiting at any time on Bishopton Street, Kingsway and William Street.

2) There will be no waiting Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:30-9:30am & 2:304pm on Bishopton Street.

3) There will be an extension to the prohibition of stopping on school entrance markings applying Monday-Friday between the hours of 8am-5pm on Bishopton Street.

The restrictions can also be viewed in map format, as the maps form part of the map based schedule to the Order. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council intends to make the above-named Order under Sections 1, 2, 3 and 4 and Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
