Greenside, Temporary Road Closure Due To Sewer Repair Works

What is happening?

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT ORDER
The London Borough Of Barking And Dagenham - (Greenside, Dagenham) (Temporary Prohibition Of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2025 - Notice Of Intent
1.NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in order to facilitate sewer rehabilitation works, the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham intends to make a Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
2. The order is expected to come in to effect on Monday 18th August 2025. The works expected for:
- Sewer rehabilitation to take 3 days to complete. Completion date estimated as Wednesday 20th August 2025 with the work expected to be undertaken between the hours of 8.00am to 6.00pm. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be re-introduced should further works be required.
3. When the works are taking place and the appropriate traffic signs are being displayed the Order will temporarily:-
- Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Greenside, both sides, from its junction with Green Lane for a distance of 30 metres in a northerly direction.
- Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Green Lane, south side, from its junction with Waldegrave Road for a distance of 32.2 metres in a north-westerly direction.
- Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Waldegrave Road, west side, from its junction with Green Lane for a distance of 10 metres in a southerly direction.
- Prohibit all vehicular traffic (Except for Access) on Greenside, both sides, from a point 30 metres north of its junction with Green Lane for a distance of 10.2 metres in a northerly direction.
- Suspend the pedestrian crossings on Green Lane, outside property Nos. 748-752 Green Lane.
- Suspend the bus stop on Green Lane, north-east side, outside Nos. 677-683 Green Lane.
- Suspend the Disabled Badge Holders Only Mon-Sat 8:00am–6.30pm 4hrs no return within 1hr bays at the following locations (one bay length);
- Green Lane, south-west side, outside No. 746 Green Lane.
-  Green Lane, south-west side, outside Nos. 754-756 Green Lane.
-  Green Lane, north-east side, outside No. 23 Green Lane.
-  Suspend the Payment Parking (TC2) Mon-Sat 8:00am–6.30pm Max stay 4hrs No return within 2hrs bays at the following locations (two bay lengths);
- Green Lane, north-east side, outside Nos. 22-23 Green Lane.
- Green Lane, south-west side, outside Nos. 758-760 Green Lane.
-  Suspend the Loading Bay Mon–Sat 8am–6.30pm 30mins No return within 1hr bay on Green Lane, south-west side, outside Nos. 740-744 Green Lane.
4. Alternative routes for pedestrians will be maintained and signed:-
- Via Green Lane temporary pedestrian crossing at a point 35 metres south-east of its junction with Greenside.
5. Alternative routes for Vehicular traffic will be maintained and signed:-
- Via Green Lane, Mayfield Road, Greenside and vice versa.
6. When this closure is in place the following locations will temporarily be controlled by:-
-  3-way traffic light signals on Green Lane at a point 41 metres south-east of its junction with Greenside, Green Lane at a point 48.3 metres north-west of its junction with Greenside, and Waldegrave Road at a point 25.5 metres south of its junction with Green Lane.
