What is happening?

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT ORDER
The London Borough Of Barking And Dagenham - (Wantz Road, Dagenham) (Temporary Prohibition Of Waiting And Loading And Footpath Closure) Order 2025 - Notice Of Intent
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in order to facilitate the installation of a storm connection, the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham intends to make a Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
2. The order is expected to come into effect on Saturday 30th August 2025. The works expected are:
• The installation of a storm connection, to take 9 days to complete.
• Completion date estimated as Sunday 7th September 2025 with the work expected to be undertaken at all times.  However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be re-introduced should further works be required.
3. When the works are taking place and the appropriate traffic signs are being displayed the Order will temporarily:
• Prohibit waiting at any time and loading at any time on Wantz Road from its junction with Albion Road for 151 metres in a northerly and westerly direction.
• Phase 1
- Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Wantz Road, east side, from a point 26 metres north of its junction with Albion Road for 27.6 metres in a northerly direction.
- Prohibit all pedestrians on Wantz Road, east side footpath, from a point 26 metres north of its junction with Albion Road for 27.6 metres in a northerly direction.
• Phase 2
- Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Wantz Road, west side, from a point 26 metres north of its junction with Albion Road for 32 metres in a northerly direction.
- Prohibit all pedestrians on Wantz Road, west side footpath, from a point 26 metres north of its junction with Albion Road for 25 metres in a northerly direction.
4. Alternative routes for pedestrians will be maintained and signed:
• For Phase 1, via Wantz Road west side footpath.
• For Phase 2, via Wantz Road east side footpath.
5. Alternative routes for Vehicular traffic will be maintained and signed:
• For Phase 1, via Wantz Road west side.
• For Phase 2, via Wantz Road east side.
6. When this closure is in place the following locations will temporarily be controlled:
• by 2-way traffic light signals on Wantz Road at a point 16.5 metres north of its junction with Albion Road and on Wantz Road at a point 68.6 metres north of its junction with Albion Road.
