Temporary Closure of Little Ireland Road, Road Between Heath House And Junction With Sand Road, Lane Between Castle And Wellsway and Wells Way
Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, have made an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along: Little Ireland Road - from the junction with Road Between Heath House And Junction With Sand Road, northwards for a distance of 113 metres; Road Between Heath House And Junction With Sand Road - from the junction with Little Ireland Road, eastwards for a distance of 88 metres; Lane Between Castle And Wellsway - from the junction with Road Between Heath House And Junction With Sand Road, southwards for a distance of 143 metres; and Wells Way - from the junction with Little Ireland Road, westwards for a distance of 118 metres. A total distance of 462 metres.
This Order will enable Doocey Group to carry out trenching works on behalf of National Grid.
The Order becomes effective on 24th July 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months. The works are expected to commence on 28th July 2025 and last until 1st August 2025 between the hours of 00:00 - 23:59 for a total of 5 days.

a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road; or b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
