Wormcliffe Lane - Order To Close Temporarily To All Traffic To Carry Out Retaining Wall Demolition & Rebuild Works

What is happening?

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily to all traffic: A) Wormcliffe Lane (Part), Box; from its property known as Stonecroft for a distance of approximately 529m in a north easterly direction. B) Footpath 75, Box; from its junction with Wormcliffe Lane to its junction with Lower Kingsdown Road to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out retaining wall demolition & rebuild works and other associated works. 

Alternative route via Wormcliffe Lane (unaffected length) – Doctors Hill – Prospect – Henley Lane – C48 – Lower Kingsdown Road – Wormcliffe Lane (unaffected length) and vice versa. The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. This Order will come into operation on 28 July 2025 and the closure will be required until 25 September 2025. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. Order A) will have a maximum duration of 18 months.
