What is happening?

A3098 Lodge Hill, Frome in the Parish of Selwood (Temporary 30mph Speed Limit) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that on the 18th day of July 2025 Somerset Council made the above Order in exercise of the provisions of Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as previously advertised on the 10th day of July 2025, to introduce a temporary 30mph Speed Limit as specified in the Schedule below. This Order will come into operation on the 24th day of July 2025 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The Works are expected to commence on the 31st day of July 2025 and last for one day (between 0930 hours and 1530 hours) to enable Sunbelt Rentals Ltd working on behalf of Openreach to carry out pole testing works. The restriction will only apply when indicated by traffic signs. Exemptions are provided in the Order for emergency vehicles.

A3098 Lodge Hill, Frome – from a point 610 metres southeast from its junction with Berkley Cross to Kemps Lane in an easterly direction for a distance of 262 metres

Statement of reasons for making the Order
a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road; or b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
