Nailsea (Experimental) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that on the 17 July 2025 North Somerset Council made an Experimental Order under section 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The general effect of the order shall be, for a maximum period of 18 months, to install parking restrictions on Pound Lane in Nailsea. The extents of the amendments are described in the schedule to this Notice.
The order will come into operation on the 1 August 2025 and copies of this together with plan and a copy of the Council’s statement of reasons for making the order may be inspected online: https://n-somerset.gov.uk/my-services/parking-travel-roads/roads-streets/comment-traffic-regulation-orders-tros or at Nailsea Library, 6-8 Colliers Walk, Nailsea BS48 1RH (during normal opening hours). Should you wish to make any observations on this Experimental Order continuing indefinitely (whether you support or object to the proposal), email: traffic.orders@n-somerset.gov.uk or write to David Bailey, Lead Engineer, North Somerset Council, Town Hall, Weston-super-Mare BS23 1UJ quoting reference EXP-NAIL-ETRO/DRB/2025 by 5pm on 6 February 2026. At that time any objections and comments received will be given consideration.
Any objections must specify the grounds on which they are made. All written representations may be considered in public by the council and may be published as part of any representation together with the name and address of the person making it could become available for public inspection.
The order will introduce no waiting at any time double yellow lines.

Notice of Public Path Order
Highways Act 1980 Section 119
North Somerset District Council
Part of Public Footpath LA 20/59, The Downs Preparatory School, Wraxall
Public Path Diversion Order No.5 2025
The above Order, made on 10 July 2025, under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980, will divert part of Public Footpath LA 20/59 in the Parish of Wraxall and Failand within the District of North Somerset.
LA 20/59 from point A (grid ref. ST 49487 73740) running in a northeasterly direction to point B (grid ref. ST 49556 73873). A total distance of approximately 148m. to a footpath from point C (grid ref. ST 49442 73777) running in an east, northerly direction to point D (grid ref. ST 49559 73820) then running in a northerly direction to point B (grid ref. ST 49556 73873). A total distance of approximately 180m.
The existing route is shown with a bold black line and the proposed route is shown with bold broken lines. The proposed route will have a width of 2.5m and a natural pasture surface as currently exists.
The proposal is shown on the Order Map No. PPO215. References to lettered points in this notice are references to the points marked on the Order Map. The Footpath to be diverted is shown by a bold black line and the proposed footpath is shown by a bold broken line. Any representations about or objections to the Orders may be sent in writing to the Natural Environment Team, North Somerset Council, Town Hall, Weston-super-Mare BS23 1UJ not later than 20 August 2025 quoting reference PPO215, stating the grounds on which they are made. If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, North Somerset District Council may confirm the Orders as unopposed Orders. If the Orders are sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment for confirmation, any representations and objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the Orders.

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 – Section 14
Notice of Temporary Traffic Regulation Order
Notice is hereby given that North Somerset District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, intend to make an order the effect of which:
Clarken Combe, Long Ashton North Somerset
Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles and Cyclists
Dates coming into force: 18 August 2025
Anticipated end date: 25 August 2025
Ref: T25-35
All vehicles are prohibited, to vehicles and cyclists using the length of road as indicated by traffic signs to this Notice.
This order is required because works are being executed on or near the road to install fibre broadband.
This will become operative on 18 August 2025, anticipated to be 6 nights. The closures will be in effect overnight between the hours of 7pm to 6am. Because of the likelihood of danger to the public while the works are in progress, no alternative route is available. If the works are not completed within the above period, the closures may be extended for a maximum of 18 months from the date the order comes into force.
Schedule – B3128 Clevedon Road from the junction of Beggar Bush Lane to Clarke Combe. Providence Lane from B3128 in a southwesterly direction for a distance of approximately 25m. Clarke Combe from the junction of Longwood Lane to the junction of Long Ashton Road.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2025
Date coming into Force: 25 September 2025

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach to replace a pole. This order will become operative on the 25 September 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be 6 hours in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2025
Date coming into Force: 27 October 2025

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Wales & West Utilities to replace 6.35m of old metallic gas mains with 6.35m of new plastic mains and renew/transfer any affected service pipes to adjacent premises. This order will become operative on the 27 October 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be 3 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2025
Date coming into Force: 7 October 2025
Ref: SW25.26-086
Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach to provide a safe working area for engineers to excavate and lay new duct in carriageway, to provide service to customer. This order will become operative on the 7 October 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 2 days in duration, between 9am and 5pm each day. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach for a pole replacement. This order will become operative on the 24 September 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be 6 hours in duration between 9am and 3pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2025
Date coming into Force: 27 October 2025

This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Wales & West Utilities for replacement of a gas main. This order will become operative on the 27 October 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 26 days in duration. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 3 days in duration. Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Temporary Suspension of One-Way Order 2025

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Bristol Water to replace lead pipe. This order will become operative on the 4 August 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the restrictions may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 3 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.
Schedule – Roath Road – road closure from junction High Street for 20m to outside property number 110 and revocation of one-way for the full extent of Roath Road for access purposes.
