Town End - Temporary Road Closure
What is happening?
DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE
TOWN END, SHIRLAND
WHEN: 11 August to 13 August 2025 (19:00 to 06:00 each night).
WHERE: Town End, Shirland from its jct. with the A61 Chesterfield Road for a distance of 50m in a northerly direction.
REASON: To facilitate carriageway patching / resurfacing works on the A61 Chesterfield Road.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: A61 Chesterfield Road, Goose Green Lane, Town End (to point of closure) and vice versa.
Access will be maintained, whenever reasonably possible, on the affected length of road. The road will re-open as soon as the work is finished. This may be earlier than advertised. Anyone needing further information should ring Call Derbyshire on 01629 533190. The County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to prohibit its use by traffic.
