What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH
TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
LIMEKILN LANE, BRIDLINGTON

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the
effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing
any vehicle to proceed along Limekiln Lane, Bridlington
30 metres either side of the level crossing commencing
6 August 2025 at 22.00 hours.
The reason for the closure is to enable inspection of
the railway bridge, core drilling and material sampling
works, to be carried out and completed in a manner
consistent with ensuring the safety of the public.
Hours of work will be between 22.00 hours and
06.00 hours. It is anticipated that the works will be
completed by 8 August 2025 at 06.00 hours.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order
is via Limekiln Lane, Sewerby Road, Sewerby Road
Roundabout, Fortyfoot, Flamborough Road, Sands Lane,
North Marine Drive and vice versa. The road will be
closed to all through traffic but remain open at all times
to pedestrians and for emergency services.
The Order will commence 6 August 2025 and
continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen
months or until the works which it is proposed to
carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
