MAE GWEINIDOGAETH CYMRU yn bwriadu gwneud Gorchymyn o dan adran 14 o Ddeddf Rheoleiddio Traffig Ffyrdd 1984 ymhen dim llai na 7 niwrnod i ddyddiad yr Hysbysiad hwn. Mae angen y Gorchymyn arfaethedig oherwydd y tebygolrwydd o berygl i’r cyhoedd ar gefnffordd yr A4042 neu gerllaw iddi rhwng Cylchfan Pont-y-pwl a Chylchfan Court Farm, Torfaen.

Effaith y Gorchymyn arfaethedig fydd gosod terfyn cyflymder 50 mya dros dro ar y darnau hynny o gefnffordd yr A4042 a bennir yn yr Atodlen i’r Hysbysiad hwn.

Daw’r Gorchymyn i rym ar 4 Awst 2025. Disgwylir y bydd y cyfyngiad dros dro, a ddangosir gan arwyddion traffig, yn weithredol o 00:01 o’r gloch ar y dyddiad hwnnw ac yn parhau mewn grym am gyfnod o 12 mis ar y mwyaf.

THE A4042 TRUNK ROAD (PONTYPOOL ROUNDABOUT TO COURT FARM ROUNDABOUT, TORFAEN) (TEMPORARY 50 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 202-

THE WELSH MINISTERS propose, in not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which is necessary due to the likelihood of danger to the public on or near the A4042 trunk road between Pontypool and Court Farm Roundabouts, Torfaen.

The effect of the proposed Order will be to impose a temporary 50 mph speed limit on the lengths of the A4042 trunk road specified in the Schedule to this Notice.

The Order will come into force on 4 August 2025. The temporary restriction, which will be indicated by traffic signs, is expected to operate from 00:01 hours on that date and to remain in force for a maximum duration of 12 months.

SCHEDULE

The length of the northbound carriageway of the trunk road that extends from a point 36 metres south of Pontypool Roundabout to its junction with the southern side of that roundabout.

The length of the northbound carriageway of the trunk road that extends from its junction with the north-eastern side of Pontypool Roundabout to a point 216 metres north-east of that roundabout.

The entire circulatory carriageway of Pontypool Roundabout.

The length of the southbound carriageway of the trunk road that extends from a point 45 metres south of its junction with the south-eastern side of Court Farm Roundabout to its junction with the north-eastern side of Pontypool Roundabout.

The length of the southbound carriageway of the trunk road that extends from its junction with the southern side of Pontypool Roundabout to a point 40 metres south of that roundabout.
