Wycliffe Street - Temporary Prohibition Of Driving For Works To Examine A Bridge
What is happening?
THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT
(WYCLIFFE STREET, HEATON NORRIS) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) NOTICE 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which will be to introduce a Temporary Prohibition of Driving at Wycliffe Street, Heaton Norris for the full length, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said road. This Order is necessary to allow for works to examine a bridge. It is estimated these works will last 1 day. Works are expected to take place from 9.30am to 15.30pm. A diversion will be provided via; Georges Road, Wellington Road North, Church Road, Parsonage Street, Wellington Road North and vice versa. This Notice does not apply to any vehicle on any occasion when it is being used for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes. This Notice does not apply to pedestrians. This Order is to come into operation on the 28 August 2025 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
