What is happening?

Portsmouth City Council (Doyle Avenue) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Prohibition of Loading and Waiting) (No.120) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 23rd July 2025 and the effect will be as follows:
A) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING
DOYLE AVENUE

From its junction with Northern Parade to Conan Road.
DOYLE AVENUE (EASTBOUND)
From its junction with Conan Road to London Road.
B) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate gas works.
C) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 23rd July 2025 to 1st September 2025 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Notwithstanding the above, works will take place between Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 19:00 and Saturday to Sunday 08:00 to 16:00.
D) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted from Doyle Avenue, London Road, Meredith Road, Northern Parade and Northern Parade, Magdalen Road, London Road, Doyle Avenue and London Road, Meredith Road, Northern Parade.
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the works.
Cycles to follow vehicle diversion or dismount and follow pedestrian diversion around the works.
