Newtown Close, Carlisle - Temporary Road Closure due to Utility Works

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (NEWTOWN CLOSE, CARLISLE)

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:

1. Newtown Close, Carlisle – a 30m length of the cul-de-sac fronting properties numbered 37 to 46; and

2. Newtown Close, Carlisle – a 30m length of the cul-de-sac fronting properties numbered 12 to 36.

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 4 August 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 26 days and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
