Norfolk Street, Coronation Street, West Sunniside - Urban Festival - Temporary Traffic Regulation

THE CITY OF SUNDERLAND
(URBAN FESTIVAL 2025) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025

Sunderland City Council gives notice that on 21st July 2025 it made an Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), and with the consent of the Secretary of State under 16B of that Act, in order to facilitate the holding of a relevant event, namely the Urban Festival 2025 (‘The Event’) which is to take place from 1st August 2025 until 3rd August 2025, and to enable the participants to take part in and the public to spectate the Event. The effect of the Order is to prohibit all vehicular traffic along and prohibit all vehicles from waiting and loading or unloading at any time along the lengths of road specified in column 1 for the duration in column 2 in the Schedule. The Order shall come into force at 00:01am on Friday 1st August 2025 and cease at 23.59pm on 3rd August 2025, however the Order will only be in operation for 3 days between 10:00am on Friday 1st August 2025 and 23:59pm on 3rd August 2025. During the Event, diversions will be signposted via the adjacent highway network where applicable. The prohibitions shall apply at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. There will be exemptions in the Order for police, fire and rescue services and ambulance vehicles on emergency call and vehicles being used in connection with the Event.
