Tranby Lane - Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic

What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL TRANBY LANE, SWANLAND (PART) TRANBY LANE, ANLABY (PART) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing any vehicle to proceed along: Tranby Lane, Swanland (between the junctions with Swanland Roundabout, Swanland and Greenstiles Lane, Swanland) Tranby Lane, Anlaby (between the junctions with Jenny Brough Lane, Hessle and Swanland Roundabout, Swanland) Commencing 21 July 2025 to allow carriageway maintenance works to be carried out by East Riding of Yorkshire Council. The road closures are necessary to enable the works to be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public.

The Order is valid for 18 months, but it is anticipated that the works (which will be carried out between 19.00 hours and 12 midnight, Monday to Friday) will be completed by 8 August 2025.

The alternative route for traffic affected by the Tranby Lane, Swanland road closure will be via Greenstiles Lane, Beech Hill Road, Occupation Lane and Swanland Dale, Swanland Swanland Dale Roundabout and Riplingham Road, West Ella, Riplingham Road Roundabout, West Ella (A164), Humber Bridge Northern Approach Road, Swanland (A164) and Swanland Roundabout, Swanland (A164).

The alternative route for traffic affected by the Tranby Lane, Anlaby Road closure will be via: Tranby Lane, Beverley Road and Boothferry Road, Roundabout, Anlaby, Boothferry Road, Hessle, Humber Bridge Roundabout, Hessle (A15), Humber Bridge Northern Approach Road, Hessle (A164) and Swanland Roundabout, Swanland (A164).

The diversion routes will be signed at the time of closure. The roads will be closed to all traffic but access will be maintained for residents, emergency services and pedestrians.
