Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
SWALE AREA
A2 Key Street, Sittingbourne. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2025
To allow the Key Street Junction Scheme to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of A2 Key Street, Sittingbourne, from 11th August 2025, with estimated completion by 20th August 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed eastbound only between the A2 Key Street Roundabout and Wises Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A2 Key Street Roundabout, Sheppey Way, Bobbing Interchange, B2006 Staplehurst Road, St Pauls Street, King Street, Mill Way, Eurolink Way, Crown Quay Lane, A2 St Michaels Road, Dover Street, West Street and London Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Bottom Pond Road, Milstead, ME9 0TJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2025
To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Bottom Pond Road, Milstead, from 31st July 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of Gossy Hill Road and Bexon Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Horn Hill, Rawling Street, Frinsted Road, Milstead, Torry Hill Road, The Street, Gossy Hill Road, Bottom Pond Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Broad Street, Sheerness, ME12 1EF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2025
To allow reinstatement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Broad Street, Sheerness, from 28th July 2025, with estimated completion by 29th July 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with Hope Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Broad Street, Railway Road, Rose Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Faversham Road, Newnham, ME9 0LD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2025
To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Faversham Road, Newnham, from 13th August 2025, with estimated completion by 14th August 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Lower Champion Court, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Faversham Road, A2 London Road, Lynsted Lane, The Street, Christophers Row, Doddington Lane, Chequers Hill, The Street, Doddington Lane, The Street, Faversham Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Granville Road, Sheerness, ME12 1UH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2025
To allow excavation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Granville Road, Sheerness, from 11th August 2025, with estimated completion by 15th August 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with St Georges Avenue, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via St Georges Avenue, Medway Road, Estuary Road, Broad Street, Rose Street and Granville Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Holbeam Road, Eastling. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2025
To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Holbeam Road, Eastling, from 13th August 2025, with estimated completion by 14th August 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions with Stalisfield Road and Church Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Stalisfield Road and Church Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Iwade Road, Newington. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2025
To allow water leak repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Iwade Road, Newington, from 28th July 2025, with estimated completion by 30th July 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Happy Pants Ranch, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Iwade Road, Church Lane, A2 High Street, A2 Boyces Hill, A2 Keycol Hill, Key Street Roundabout, Sheppey Way, Stickfast Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Munns Lane, Hartlip, ME9 7SU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2025
To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Munns Lane, Hartlip, from 14th August 2025, with estimated completion by 18th August 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions with Danes Lane and Lower Hartlip Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Lower Hartlip Road, A2 Hartlip Hill, Mill Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Munsgore Lane, Borden, ME9 8JU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2025
To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Munsgore Lane, Borden, from 11th August 2025, with estimated completion by 17th August 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with School Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via School Lane, Pond Farm Road and Oad Street.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Terrace Road & Harold Road, Sittingbourne. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2025
To allow water pipe repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Terrace Road, Sittingbourne, from 29th July 2025, with estimated completion by 31st July 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 20, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Murston Road, Shortlands Road, Harold Road and Terrace Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
The One-Way Order on Harold Road will be suspended for the duration of the works. This will be imposed from the junction with Terrace Road to number 18 Harold Road, to allow access for residents.
Wrens Road, Borden, ME9 8AL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2025
To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Wrens Road, Borden, from 31st July 2025, with estimated completion by 4th August 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between number 2 Wren Cottages and Oast House, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Wrens Road, Hearts Delight Road, Doves Croft, Bredgar Road, Primrose Lane, Gore Road, Manns Place, Wrens Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
