What is happening?
Highways
Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
SEVENOAKS AREA
Cade Lane, Sevenoaks, TN13 1RU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
Because of SGN works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Cade Lane, Sevenoaks, on or after 29th July 2025 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 2.
There is no alternative route but access will be given when safe to do so.
Castle Hill, Hartley, DA3 8EN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
Because of Openreach works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Castle Hill, Hartley, on or after 11th August 2025 for up to 1 day between 09.30hrs and 15.30hrs or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed for the entire length.
The alternative route is via Castle Hill, Ash Road, Hartley Road, B260 Main Road, Fawkham Road and vice versa.
Leonard Avenue, Otford, TN14 5PE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
Because of gas main replacement works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Leonard Avenue, Otford, on or after 11th August 2025 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the junction with A225 Station Road.
There is no alternative route but access will be given when safe to do so.
Noahs Ark, Kemsing, TN15 6PD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
Because of National Highways works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Noahs Ark, Kemsing, on or after 15th August 2025 for up to 15 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed over M26.
The alternative route is via St Ediths Road, West End, Childsbridge Lane, Church Street, Noahs Ark and vice versa.
Ovenden Road, Sundridge, TN14 6AH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
Because of drainage works to prevent further flooding to the carriageway, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Ovenden Road, Sundridge, on or after 28th July 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed just before Oveny Green Cottages, by the pond.
The alternative route is via Ovenden Road, Pilgrims Way, Brasted Hill Road, Rectory Lane, A25 High Street/Main Road, B2211 Chevening Road and vice versa.
Pease Hill, Ash, TN15 7ER (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
Because of drainage works to prevent further flooding to the carriageway, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Pease Hill, Ash, on or after 11th August 2025 for up to 12 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed 100m from the junction with The Street/South Ash Road.
The alternative route is via Pease Hill, Hartley Bottom Road, North Ash Road, Redhill Road, Ash Road, The Street and vice versa.
Speedgate Hill, Fawkham, DA3 8NU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
Because of a new connection to a water main, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Speedgate Hill, Fawkham, on or after 11th August 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Speedgate Lodge.
The alternative route is via Valley Road, Brands Hatch Road, Scratchers Lane, Three Gates Road and vice versa.
Watery Lane, Seal, TN15 0EL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
Because of Openreach works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Watery Lane, Seal, on or after 31st July 2025 for up to 1 day between 09.30hrs and 15.30hrs or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between A25 Maidstone Road and Waterden Cottage.
The alternative route is via A25 Maidstone Road, Broad Oak Lane, Fullers Hill and vice versa.
VARIOUS ROADS, SEVENOAKS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPEND ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
Because of carriageway patching, surface treatment and associated preparation, finishing and accommodation works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on Various Roads, Sevenoaks as per the schedule below.
This Order takes effect on or after 13 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months or until the works have been completed. Planned dates will be published in advance of the works and indicated by signage displayed on site 14 days before they start. This programme is subject to weather and other factors and may therefore change; every effort will be made to keep as close as possible to the programmed dates and duration. Changes will be notified locally and signposted on site.

Chipstead Lane, Riverhead
13th August 2025 for 3 days
Closed between Witches Lane and A25 Worships Hill.
The One-Way will be suspended to allow access.
Alternative route via A25 Worships Hill, Witches Lane and vice versa.
B2019 Seal Hollow Road
7th October 2025 for 7 nights between 20.00hrs and 05.00hrs
Closed between Hillborough Avenue and A225 Dartford Road.
Alternative route via B2019 Seal Hollow Road, A25 Seal Road, A225 St Johns Hill, A225 Dartford Road, B2019 Seal Hollow Road and vice versa.
Pembroke Road
13th October 2025 for 5 nights between 20.00hrs and 05.00hrs
Closed for the entire length
Alternative route via A225 High Street, A225 Dartford Road, A225 St Johns Hill, A25 Bradbourne Vale Road, A25 Maidstone Road, A25 London Road, A224 Amherst Hill, A224 London Road and vice versa.
