(Colchester City) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) (Amendment CCC57) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given Colchester City Council acting on behalf of the North Essex Parking Partnership in exercise of the delegated powers of the traffic authority Essex County Council granted under an Agreement dated 1st July 2022 has made the above Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 4(1), 4(2), 32, 35, 45, 46, 49 and 53 and Parts III and IV of schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
The effect of the Order:
To revoke the No Waiting at Any Time restriction at the junction of St. Nicholas Street and Culver Street East
To revoke the Restricted Parking zone No Waiting at Any Time in St. Nicholas Street.
To revoke the Goods Vehicles Loading Only Mon-Sat 8am-6pm bays at the West end of Culver Street East.
To revoke the Restricted Parking Zone No Waiting at Any Time at the junction of Culver Street East and Long Wyre Street.
To revoke the Goods Vehicles Loading Only Mon-Sat 8am-6pm bays in St. Nicholas Street.
To Introduce Goods Vehicles Loading Only 7am-10am bay (Restricted parking/loading zone at all other times) on the South kerb of Culver Street East.
To introduce a Restricted Parking Zone No Waiting at Any Time and No Loading at Any Time in St. Nicholas Street, the West end of Culver Street East and the junction of St. Nicholas Street/Culver Street East and Long Wyre Street.
This Order will be incorporated into The Essex County Council (Colchester Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019 by replacing tile numbers TL995 250 revision 4 with TL995 250 revision 5
Date of operation: The Order will come into operation on 28th July 2025.

Application to the high court: Anyone who wishes to question the validity of the Order of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, or any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within six weeks from the date of the making of the Order apply to the High Court for this purpose.

(Boxted Church Road, Great Horkesley) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Boxted Church Road, Great Horkesley in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Tog Lane for a distance of approximately 175m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 13th August 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD037R065288417 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while ECC works are undertaken by Anglian Water.
An alternative route is available via Nayland Road, Horkesley Hill, Park Road, Burnt Dick Hill, Church Road, Boxted Church Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 24th July 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Chappel Road, Fordham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Chappel Road, Fordham in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Penlan Hall Lane for a distance of approximately 400m in a north easterly then south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 11th August 2025 for 4 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2386517–EH2385397 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while drainage works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Chappel Road, Moat Road, Ponders Road, A1124, Penlan Hall Lane and vice versa.
(Church Road, Birch) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Church Road, Birch in the City of Colchester, from its junction with School Hill for a distance of approximately 45m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 28th July 2025 for 26 days (works to be completed in phases), or where stated on a valid permit (EC30084729973 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while installation works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via School Hill and vice versa (with access only into Church Road).
The Order will come into effect on 24th July 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Copt Hall Lane, Little Wigborough) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Copt Hall Lane, Little Wigborough in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 495m south east of its junction with Peldon Road for a distance of approximately 30m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 13th August 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD01310771451 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

(Dyers Road, Stanway) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Dyers Road, Stanway in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Warren Lane to its junction with Blackberry Road a distance of approximately 860m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 11th August 2025 for 29 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411005FBR39476 – Openreach). The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway and footway works are undertaken by Openreach.

(East Gores Road, Coggeshall) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of East Gores Road, Coggeshall in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 500m south west of its junction with Buckley’s Lane for a distance of approximately 30m in a southerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 13th August 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03061664214 – Anglian Water). (Hardys Green, Birch) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Hardys Green, Birch in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 220m north west of its junction with Maldon Road for a distance of approximately 20m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 11th August 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03061814944 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. (Old Ipswich Road, Ardleigh Southbound Only) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Old Ipswich Road, Ardleigh in the District of Tendring, from its junction with A12 for a distance of approximately 50m in a north easterly direction (Southbound traffic only). The closure is scheduled to commence on 4th August 2025 for 10 nights (21:00–05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (FN40657102397 – National Highways). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while resurfacing works are undertaken by National Highways.
An alternative route is available via A12, A1341, A12, Northbound slip to Blackbrook Hill, Southbound slip from Blackbrook Hill, A12 or Old Ipswich Road, Turnpike Close, A12, Northbound Slip to Blackbrook Hill, Southbound slip from Blackbrook Hill and A12.
The Order will come into effect on 24th July 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Station Road, Thorrington) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Station Road, Thorrington in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Church Road to its junction with Great Bentley Road a distance of approximately 40m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 17th August 2025 for 1 night (00:15–07:30), or where stated on a valid permit (KL735C0C-59-41-170825 – Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while track alignment works are undertaken by Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd.

(Straight Road, Boxted) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Straight Road, Boxted in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 140m south west of its junction with East Side for a distance of approximately 170m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 11th August 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2388767 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while excavation works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

(Upland Road, West Mersea) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Upland Road, West Mersea in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Uplands Crescent for a distance of approximately 25m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 14th August 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (YN10074737_ERI_CTM_RW – MBNL). Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Harwich Road, Ardleigh in the District of Tendring, from its junction with The Street to its junction with Little Bromley Road a distance of approximately 410m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 28th July 2025 for 6 nights (19:00–05:00) or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2377185 – Essex County Council). Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close that length of High Street, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Maidenburgh Street to its junction with St Nicholas Street a distance of approximately 15m.
To temporarily suspend the one way in that length of Maidenburgh Street, Colchester & George Street, Colchester in the City of Colchester as cited in “The Essex County Council (West Stockwell Street, East Stockwell Street, Maidenburgh Street and George Street, Colchester) (No Entry and Revocation of One Way) Order 2022”.
To temporarily suspend the one way in that length of William Walk, Colchester in the City of Colchester, as cited in “The Borough of Colchester (Traffic Regulation) (No.4) Order 1953”.
The closure/restrictions are scheduled to commence on 26th July 2025 for 1 night (20:00–07:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EC30063006386, EC30063524752, EC30096561253, EC30097595275 – UK Power Networks).
