Shropshire - Various Temporary Road Traffic Restrictions
What is happening?

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER/S -
PUBLIC NOTICES OF INTENTION
NOTICE is hereby given that Shropshire Council (“the Council”) intend, not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order/s under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 (as amended), the effect of which is to restrict the use of road/s as stated below. The Order/s for restriction is/are required for the purpose/s as stated below. There are exceptions in the Order/s to permit pedestrian access (and/or vehicular
access at the discretion of the Council or Statutory Undertaker) to any land or premises having a frontage to the said highway affected where there is no other form of access, and to any access allowing the necessary works to be undertaken. Access will be maintained for cyclists, pedestrians and dismounted horse riders unless stated below. The alternative route/s for those affected by the proposal/s is/are as stated below.
It is intended that the proposed restriction/s will come into force on the 28th July 2025 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months (unless extended upon the direction of the Secretary of State) or until any said works which it is proposed to be carried out have been completed, whichever is the earlier. However, it is expected the Order will only be operative for the duration as stated in below.
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using B4555 between Eardington and Chelmarsh
Date & Duration: 3rd August 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water - New water connection
Alternative Route : B4555, B4363, B4555
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using B5477 Ludlow Road, Little Stretton
Date & Duration: 28th July 2025 for 5 days between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Road Closure-Private Tree Felling works.
Alternative Route : B5477, A49, B4371, B5477
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Black Park Road, Whitchurch
Date & Duration: 1st August 2025 between 09:30 to 15:00
Purpose: Road Closure - Pole test work
Alternative Route : Black Park Road, Talbot Street, Brownlow Street, Alport Road, Mile
Bank Road, Osmere Lane, Black Park road
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Dalelands Estate, Market Drayton
Date & Duration: 28th July 2025 for 36 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Gas mains replacement scheme.
Alternative Route : Shrewsbury Road, Buntingsdale Road, Christ Church Lane, Quarry Bank Road, Salisbury Hill View
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Havelock Road, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 30th July 2025 between 09:30 to 15:30
Purpose: Road Closure - BT, to provide a safe working area for engineers to access existing telegraph pole to provide fibre overhead cabling
Alternative Route : Belle Vue Road, Hawthorn Road, Havelock Road
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Market Street, Wem
Date & Duration: 28th July 2025 for 5 days
Purpose: Road Closure - New connection
Alternative Route : Noble Street, High Street
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Neachley Lane, Tong
Date & Duration: 28th July 2025 for 3 days between 08:00 to 16:45
Purpose: Road Closure-Airband-Lay Duct across CW to install fibreoptic cable
Alternative Route : Long Lane, A41, M54, Neachley Lane
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using B4397, Ruyton Road, Baschurch
Date & Duration: 31st July 2025 for 6 days between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Multevo carriageway repairs
Alternative Route : B4397, A528, A495, A5, B4397
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Coronation Avenue, Ludlow
Date & Duration: 28th July 2025 for 37 days
Purpose: Concrete repairs to soffit and deck, installation of concrete slab over the culvert, carriageway and footway reinstatement.
Alternative Route : B4361, A49, B4361
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using High Street, Albrighton
Date & Duration: 29th July 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Drainage investigation with road crossing
Alternative Route : Kingswood Road, A41, Rectory Road, High Street
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road Hinstock to Ellerton
Date & Duration: 31st July 2025 for 2 days between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Multevo carriageway repairs
Alternative Route : A529, A41, Unnamed road North East, Unnamed road North
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Newhouse Lane, Albrighton
Date & Duration: 28th July 2025 for 1 day between 09:00 to 16:00
Purpose: Ditching works
Alternative Route : Cross Road, Holyhead Road
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road Between Cantlop and Pitchford
Date & Duration: 29th July 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure - Severn Trent Water, remedial works required to rectify defective reinstatement.
Alternative Route : Unnamed road North through Betton Abbots, A458, A5, A49, Unnamed road South East, Frodesley Lane, Unnamed road East, Unnamed road North through Pitchford
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road between Forton Heath and Fitz, Forton Heath
Date & Duration: 3rd August 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure - Severn Trent Water, remedial works to defective reinstatement.
Alternative Route : Unnamed road South West through Forton, B4380, A5, B4397, B5067
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road between Harnage and Cound, Harnage
Date & Duration: 28th July 2025 for 9 days
Purpose: Road Closure - National Grid, new customer connection.
Alternative Route : Unnamed road South East, Unnamed road North East, A458, Unnamed road South East through Cound
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road between Stoke St Milborough and Scrimidge
Date & Duration: 28th July 2025 for 4 days
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water- Long Com pipe renew
Alternative Route : Unnamed road North through Stokegorse, Unnamed road North West towards Clee St Margaret, Unnamed road South West towards Haytons Bent, Unnamed road East towards Hopton Cangeford, Unnamed road North East
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road Foxholes to The Lowe
Date & Duration: 29th July 2025 for 2 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Remedial.

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from travelling at no more than 30mph on the A442 Bridgnorth Road, near Shatterford
Date & Duration: 29th July 2025 for 4 days
Purpose: Temporary speed restriction - Severn Trent Water New connection, works under two way signals
Alternative Route : Not applicable
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road Argoed House to Beechfield, Kinnerley
Date & Duration: 28th July 2025 for 3 days between 09:00 to 16:00
Purpose: Drainage repair
Alternative Route : Argoed road, School road, Unnamed road West
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road, Cherrington
Date & Duration: 1st August 2025 between 09:00 to 17:00
Purpose: Road Closure - Tree Trimming
Alternative Route : Unnamed road South, Unnamed road West to Great Bolas, Eaton road, Unnamed road Childs Ercall to Howle
