What is happening?

U9537 WESTERN AVENUE SEATON DELAVAL
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on that section of the U9537 Western Avenue Seaton Delaval from its junction with U9537 Mitford Avenue, Seaton Delaval heading north eastwards for a distance of 107 metres in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 28th July 2025 until the 28th January 2026.
It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 28th July 2025 until the 6th August 2025 between the hours of 08:00 & 16:00 during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 28th January 2026.
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being via the Mitford Avenue, Prospect Street, Blyth Street and vice-versa.
Should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.

The closure has been requested by Northumberland County Council to resurface the carriageway. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
