Peterborough, Thorney/Wansford - Temporary Prohibition of Traffic.

Notice is given that the Council of the City of Peterborough has made an Order pursuant to section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:

The City of Peterborough Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic Order 2025 – 

Crowland Road, Thorney                                                 Ref: 26-079

The effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along the road known as Crowland Road, Thorney, as lies approximately 70m from junction with English Drove. The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above road. The alternative route for vehicles affected by this order is: Crowland Road, Nene Terrace Road, A16, Thorney Road, Crowland Road, Bukehorn Road and vice versa. The proposed order will come into force on the 21/07/2025 and will continue until the excavation to lay new pipeline works have been completed or until the 20/07/2026, whichever is the earlier. Closure dates will be confirmed locally on site. It is anticipated that the works will take place between the 21/07/2025 and the 01/08/2025. The effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along the roads detailed in the schedule below:

The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above roads. The alternative routes for vehicles affected by this order are detailed in the schedule. The proposed order will come into force on the 28/07/2025 and will continue until the gas main replacement works have been completed or until the 27/07/2026, whichever is the earlier. Closure dates will be confirmed locally on site. It is anticipated that the works will take place between 28/07/2025 and 17/10/2025. The City of Peterborough Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic Order 2025 – 

Willow Hall Lane, Thorney, Peterborough                       Ref: 26-071

The effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along the road known as Willow Hall Lane, Thorney, as lies between Northey Road and Willow Hall Farm. The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above road. The alternative route for vehicles affected by this order is via: Pearces Road, Eyebury Road, Crowland Road, A47 and vice versa. The proposed order will come into force on the 29/07/2025 and will continue until the water mains installation works have been completed or until the 28/07/2026, whichever is the earlier. Closure dates will be confirmed locally on site. It is anticipated that the works will take place between the 29/07/2025 and the 31/07/2025. The Council of the City of Peterborough gives notice pursuant to section 14(2)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984:

The City of Peterborough Old North Road, Wansford

Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions)

Act 1991 (Temporary Restriction of Through Traffic) Notice 26-087 2025               Ref: 26-087

The effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along the road known as Old North Road, Wansford, southbound only, as lies between A47 and Black Swan Spinney. There are no properties affected by this Notice.

The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the A1 southbound.

The alternative route for vehicles affected by this order is: A47, Old Leicester Road, Wansford Road and Old North Road.

This notice is made due to a closure of A1 southbound and will remain effective for no more than 5 days from 19/07/2025.

It is expected that this closure will be in place overnight 20:00 to 06:00 on the 19th and 20th July 2025 only. The Notice shall not apply to any persons lawfully engaged in connection with any works for which it is made, any member of the Police Force, Fire and Rescue Service, Ambulance Service, a vehicle being used by Special Forces during the execution of their duties or any person acting with permission or upon the direction of a police Officer in uniform.
