What is happening?

(PUBLIC FOOTPATH GW21 – PYTCHLEY)
(TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the above Order made by North Northamptonshire Council on 23rd January 2025 and which came into effect on 25th January 2025 has been extended until the works to which it relates have been completed or until midnight on 25th January 2026 whichever is sooner by the Secretary of State for Transport. Private access to land or premises adjacent to the said footpath is unaffected.
REASON FOR RESTRICTION: The restriction is required for health and safety as the surface conditions are unsafe.

SCHEDULE
(Length of footpath to be closed)
The route to be closed starts on Public Footpath GW21 at point A on the map at National Grid Reference (NGR) SP 8596 7411. The route travels generally in a South-Easterly direction for approximately 415 metres to terminate at point B at NGR SP 8601 7370, where the GW21 path meets the TM8 public Bridleway. The route to be closed is shown by a solid black line between points A and B on the TRO plan.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: The alternative route to be used commences at the same point A on the map at National Grid Reference (NGR) SP 8596 7411. The route follows the Orlingbury Road in a southerly direction for approximately 370 metres until the junction of Orlingbury Road with the GW6 Public Bridleway. The route then follows the GW6 Public Bridleway in an easterly direction for approximately 150 metres to return to point B at NGR SP 8601 7370.
