(AKETON ROAD, CASTLEFORD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 189) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for excavation on behalf of Northern Powergrid to upgrade electrical infrastructure to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Aketon Road, Castleford. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Aketon Road.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Leeds Barnsdale Road, Lumley Street, Aketon Road & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 23rd July 2025 to 29th August 2025 or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(LEEDS ROAD, CUTSYKE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 190) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for excavation on behalf of Northern Powergrid to upgrade electrical infrastructure to be carried out as follows:
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Leeds Road, Cutsyke. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Leeds Road.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Aketon Road, Cutsyke Road, Bruce Smeaton Way, Leeds Road & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 23rd July 2025 to 29th August 2025 or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 191) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds to carry out carriageway surfacing to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Featherstone Lane, Featherstone. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Featherstone Lane.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: N/A.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 21st July 2025 at 07.30 hours to 15.30 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(BRIERLEY ROAD, SOUTH HIENDLEY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 194) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds to locate & clear blockages on existing Openreach network for the roll out of fibre to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Brierley Road, South Hiendley, opposite number 16 Brierley Road to near the junction of Hilltop on Frickley Bridge Lane. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Brierley Road.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Brierley Road, High Street, Robin Lane, Barnsley Road and then Barewell Hill, Barnsley Road and Frickley Bridge Lane in Barnsley.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 21st July 2025 to 22nd July 2025 and again on 12th August 2025 to 13th August 2025, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(CHURCH AVENUE, SOUTH KIRKBY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 196) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds to excavate and locate cable, joint new cable and reinstate excavations to be carried out as follows:
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Church Avenue, South Kirkby for approximately 150 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Church Avenue.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Church Avenue, Church Grove, Church Drive & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 21st July 2025 to 25th July 2025 or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 197) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds to excavate and locate cable, joint new cable and reinstate excavations to be carried out as follows:
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Myson Avenue, Pontefract for approximately 50 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Myson Avenue.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Ashdene Grove, Askham Avenue & vice versa. PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 21st July 2025 to 25th July 2025 or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(BROADWAY TERRACE, SOUTH ELMSALL)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 198) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds to carry out carriageway patching to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Broadway Terrace, South Elmsall from the side of numbers 54 to 56 Broadway to outside numbers 6 to 7 Broadway Terrace. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Broadway Terrace.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: N/A
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 22nd July 2025 at 09.30 hours to 23rd July 2025 at 15.30 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Farm Road, Featherstone from the side of number 2 to the rear of number 31 Vicarage Lane. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Farm Road.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds to carry out carriageway resurfacing to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Minsthorpe Lane, South Elmsall from Barnsley Road to Ash Grove. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Minsthorpe Lane.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Barnsley Road, High Street, Mill Lane & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 21st July 2025 at 08.00 hours to 29th August 2025 at 17.00 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(BARNSLEY ROAD, SOUTH KIRKBY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 212) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds to replace manhole frame & cover to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Barnsley Road, South Kirkby for approximately 300 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Barnsley Road.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: High Street, Mill Lane, Minsthorpe Lane, Sprockhoeval Way, Hemsworth A1 Link Road, Hemsworth Bypass, Hemsworth Road, Hague Lane, White Apron Street, Barnsley Road & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 7th August 2025 from 23.59 hours to 8th August 2025 at 04.00 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(HACKING LANE, SOUTH ELMSALL)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 214) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds for safe access to overhead network to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Hacking Lane, South Elmsall from the junction with Chapel Lane for approximately 66 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Hacking Lane. ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Hacking Lane, Valley Avenue, Valley View, Belmont Way, Field Lane, High Street, Chapel Lane, Hacking Lane & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 5th August 2025 from 09.30 hours to 15.30 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(BEANCROFT ROAD, CASTLEFORD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 215) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds to carry out gas main replacement works to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Beancroft Road, Castleford for approximately 40.50 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Beancroft Road.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Smawthorne Lane, Bridge Street, Saville Road, Bank Street, Station Road, Cambridge Street & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 2nd August 2025 to 3rd August 2025, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(BRIDLEWAY NO. 8, WOMERSLEY ROAD, KNOTTINGLEY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE) ORDER (NO 217) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield by reason of works to allow for a diversion in the new build residential development to be carried out on or near bridleway No. 8, Womersley Road, Knottingley, for approximately 385 metres, and the likelihood of danger arising to the public, intend not less than 7 days from the date of this notice to make an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall proceed in the length of public bridleway.
Alternative route for pedestrians: Diversion is around the northern boundary using heras fencing.
The order comes into operation on 4th August 2025 to 1st February 2026.
