What is happening?

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF HARMER GREEN LANE, DIGSWELL) ORDER NO.2 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Harmer Green Lane, Digswell from its junction with Harmer Dell south westwards for a distance of approximately 409m

(“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Harmer Green Lane, New Road,

Dalke Avenue and Harmer Green Lane.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 1 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BULLENS GREEN LANE, HATFIELD) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Bullens Green Lane, Hatfield from its junction with Fellowes Lane north westwards and north eastwards for a distance of approximately 240m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Fellowes Lane, Tollgate Road, Roestock Lane and Bullens Green Lane.

The Order is needed because the replacement of existing gas mains is proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 21 July 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BERICOIT WAY, WELWYN GARDEN CITY ORDER 2025)

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Beryicot Way, Welwyn Garden City from its junction with the Moors Walk/Ludwick Way roundabout north eastwards to its junction with the Rivenhall End/Douglas Avenue roundabout, a distance of approximately 105m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Moors Walk, Sylvan Way and Beryicot Way.

The Order is needed because sewer cleaning works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 21 July 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF STATION ROAD, DIGSWELL) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Station Road, Digswell from its junction with Harmer Green Lane north westwards for a distance of approximately 70m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via Harmer Green Lane, Hertford Road and Station Road.

The Order is needed because bridge inspection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 22 July 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF OSBORN WAY, WELWYN GARDEN CITY ORDER 2025)

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the southbound carriageway of Osborn Way, Welwyn Garden City from its junction with the B195 Bridge Road roundabout south eastwards for a distance of approximately 125m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via B195 (Bridge Road/The Campus roundabout), Parkway, A6129 Stanborough Road and Osborn Way.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 21 July 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF B156 NORTHAW ROAD EAST, CUFFLEY) ORDER NO.2 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B156 Northaw Road East, Cuffley from its junction with Cattlegate Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 625m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via B156 (Northaw Road West/ Coopers Lane/Judges Hill/The Causeway), A1000 (Hatfield Road/ Great North Road), B157 (Shepherds Way/The Ridgeway/East Ridgeway Lane) and B156 Northaw Road East.

The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing gas main is proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 19 July 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(RESTRICTION OF WAITING) ORDER 2025

THE HERTFORDSHIRE (VARIOUS ROADS, WOOLMER GREEN) (RESTRICTED ROAD) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (1984 Act) to introduce restrictions on waiting and speed limits in those lengths of roads in Woolmer Green as specified in the Schedules to this Notice.

The Orders will come into effect on Friday 5 September 2025.

Documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders may be viewed from 16 July 2025 to 27 August 2025 during office hours at Main Reception, County Hall, Hertford or online at:

Any person wishing to question the validity of the Orders, or of any of their provisions, on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the 1984 Act, or that any requirement of the 1984 Act or any instrument made under it has not been complied with, may, within 6 weeks from the date of this Notice, apply to the High Court for this purpose.

SCHEDULE 1: No waiting at any time – those sections of road listed below and as set out in the Order and scheme plan –

Parts of B197 London Road and Mardelybury Road.

SCHEDULE 2: 30 mph speed limit – that section of road listed below and as set out in the Order and scheme plan – Part of B197 London Road, Mardely Hill, Mardelybury Road, Heath Road, New Road, Bridge Road, White Cross Drive.
