What is happening?

Temporary Local Diversion of Public Rights of Way

As part of the pre-construction phase of Sizewell C nuclear power station, footpath Benhall 28 Public Rights of Way (PRoW) will be temporarily diverted for 65 metres at the A1094 Friday Street end of the path. This is to allow for works to build an attenuation pond. The diversion will be in place from the 4th August 2025 to 4th August 2027.

The land forms part of the construction area for the Two Village Bypass which was approved by the Sizewell C Development Consent Order (2022).

As part of the Green Rail Route, footpath Leiston 3 will be closed for one day from 07.00 to 18.00 on the 18th July 2025 for works to the railway tracks. There will be no alternative route in place for this period.

As part of the Green Rail Route, footpath Leiston 5 will be closed for one day from 07.00 to 18.00 on the 21st July 2025 for works to the railway tracks. An alternative route will be signed during works.

If you would like to find out more information about these works, please contact our Leiston Information Office.
