Cross Houses, Shrewsbury - Road Traffic Restrictions
What is happening?
THE SHROPSHIRE COUNCIL
(BOROUGH OF SHREWSBURY & ATCHAM) (NO. 2)
(SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 2006 (AMENDMENT NO. 2) ORDER 2025
On 10 July 2025 Shropshire Council made an order to introduce a 40mph speed limit on the following roads in Cross Houses:
40mph Speed Limit
C5062 – from a point located 220 metres in a northerly direction from its
junction with the A458 to a point located 29 metres in a southerly direction
from its junction with B4380
C5137 – entire length
U5201 – entire length
U5202 – entire length
U5218 – entire length
U5982 – entire length
Any existing speed limits at the above locations will be revoked.
THE SHROPSHIRE COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS, CROSS HOUSES)
(7.5T WEIGHT RESTRICTION) ORDER 2025
On 10 July 2025 Shropshire Council made an order to place a 7.5 tonne weight restriction on the following lengths of roads in Cross Houses:
C5062 – entire length
C5137 – entire length
U5201 – entire length
U5202 – entire length
U5218 – entire length
U5982 – entire length
These changes will come into effect on 18 July 2025.
Copies of the orders may be examined during normal office hours (8:45am5:00pm Monday to Thursday, and 8:45am-4:00pm on Fridays) at Shropshire
Council, The Guildhall, Frankwell, Shrewsbury.
If you wish to question the validity of either Order, or any provisions in them, on the grounds that they are not within the powers conferred by The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation
to the Order, you may, within six weeks from 10 July 2025, apply for that purpose to the High Court.
