TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025
Comhairle nan Eilean Siar under section14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) hereby gives notice of “The Comhairle nan Eilean Siar (Callanish Village, Isle of Lewis) (30mph Speed Limit) Temporary Road Traffic Regulation Order 2025”. The Order will apply between Monday 21st July 2025 and Monday 18th January 2027.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving or causing or permitting to be driven any vehicles at a speed exceeding 30mph on the following sections of roads:
Callanish West Road from the junction with the A858 at a point 360m or thereby south of the Free Church in a westerly direction and then southerly to the junction with Pier Road with a northerly branch to the turning point at No 37 Callanish, an overall distance of 1735m or thereby.
Callanish Pier Road from the junction with the A858 adjacent to the Telephone Exchange westerly to the turning point at Callanish Farmhouse, an overall distance of 830m or thereby.
Callanish Loop Road from the junction at Callanish Pier Road in a northerly direction and then easterly to the junction with the A858, an overall distance of 490m or thereby.
