What is happening?

WAKEFIELD COUNCIL

(CIVIL ENFORCEMENT AREA)

(OFF STREET PARKING PLACES)

(CONSOLIDATION ORDER) 2025

The Council Of The City Of Wakefield (hereinafter referred to as

“the Council”) in exercise of their powers under the Road Traffic Regulation

Act 1984 (hereinafter referred to as “the Act of 1984”) as amended and the Traffic Management Act 2004 as amended, and of all other enabling powers intend to make an Order, the effect of which is described below:

1. Revoke the Wakefield Council Off Street Parking Places Order 2019, as amended

2. to consolidate all the existing off street parking loading and waiting restrictions into one Order;

3. introduce Sunday charging for car parks as set out in the Schedule below in Wakefield, Castleford and Pontefract

4. introduce a maximum vehicle length of 5 metres on Tithe Barn Street Car Park, Horbury

5. introduce a loading area in Anglers Car Park, Wintersett

6. delete plan number 36 and replace with plan number 36a in relation to Newmillerdam Car Park

7. update definitions used in the Order

A copy of the draft Order, together with plans and Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the Order, may be examined during normal office hours at the Customer Service Counter, Wakefield One, Burton Street, Wakefield. If you wish to object to the proposed Order you should send the grounds for your objection in writing to reach the undersigned by not later than 12 noon on Monday 8th August 2025 quoting reference L/AS/CPE/OFF, or email to carparkingassets@wakefield.gov.uk
