What is happening?

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council made the above-mentioned Order on Tuesday 15th July 2025, in exercise of its powers and duties under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 122(1) and 122(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”), and of all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act, and having discharged its duty under section 122 of the Act.
General nature and effectS of the Order: Will be to: (i) cause traffic to travel in a southerly direction in that length of B3049 Clifton Terrace between its junction with U374 Clifton Hill and its junction with B3040 Romsey Road; and  (ii) prohibit motor vehicles from making right or left turn manoeuvres as specified below:  (a) B3040 Romsey Road, left or right into B3049 Clifton Terrace (b) B3049 Clifton Terrace, left into B3040 Romsey Road (c) B3049 Clifton Terrace, left or right into U374 Clifton Hill This Traffic Regulation Order will make the provisions of ‘The Hampshire (Romsey Road, Clifton Terrace and Clifton Hill, Winchester) (Experimental One-Way Traffic and Prohibition of Right / Left Turns) Order 2023’ permanent.
DATE OF OPERATION: The order will come into force on Saturday 26th July 2025.

APPLICATION TO THE HIGH COURT: Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Act, or that any of the relevant requirements of the Act or of any relevant instrument made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, by Tuesday 26th August 2025 make application for the purpose to the High Court.
