Department for Infrastructure - Abandonment notice

What is happening?

Church Hill, Jonesborough

The Department for Infrastructure (DfI), being of the opinion
that the road is not necessary for road traffi c, gives notice of
its intention to make an Order under Article 68 of the Roads
(Northern Ireland) Order 1993, the effect of which would be
to abandon an area of 21 square metres of superseded road
at Church Hill, Jonesborough, located at a point 62 metres
north-east of its junction with Church Hill Road. The area
of road proposed to be abandoned is delineated on a map
which, together with a copy of a draft order, may be inspected
free of charge during offi ce hours within the period 15th July
2025 to 22nd August 2025 at DfI TRAM Southern Division,
Newry Mourne & Down West Section Offi ce, 3 Springhill
Road, Carnbane Industrial Estate, Newry or viewed online at

Inspection of the draft Order and map is by appointment
only which can be arranged either by email using the email
address below or by telephone during offi ce hours (Monday
to Friday 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.) on 0300 200 7899.
Any person may, within the period above, object to the
proposal by writing to the Department at DfI TRAM
Southern Division, Lands Section, Marlborough House,
Central Way, Craigavon, BT64 1AD or by emailing

southernlandsteam@infrastructure-ni.gov.uk

stating the
grounds of the objection.
