Kingston Road - Bus Lane And Waiting Restrictions

What is happening?

THE PORTSMOUTH CITY COUNCIL (KINGSTON ROAD)
(BUS LANE AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2025


1. Notice is hereby given that the Portsmouth City Council proposes to make the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order would be to introduce:
a. A southbound bus lane (buses, cycles and taxis only) in A2047 Kingston Road, east side:
i. From Binsteed Road to Hanway Road.
To facilitate the operation of the bus lane, it is also proposed to introduce "No waiting at any time" restrictions (double yellow lines) in in place of the parking places on A2047 Kingston Road / Fratton Road, east side, from its junction with Binsteed Road to Hale Court, Fratton Road.
2. Copies of the draft Order, Statement of Reasons and Map are available to view on Portsmouth City Council’s website: Search 'Traffic Regulation Orders 2025’ at

www.portsmouth.gov.uk.

Alternatively, they can be viewed at the Civic Offices, Guildhall Square, PO1 2AL, Monday to Friday between 9am - 4pm. Printed copies can be obtained by calling 023 9260 6480.
3. Persons wishing to object to or make other representations with regard to these proposals must do so in writing, stating the grounds on which they are made. Representations must be sent to

.com or by post to TRO Team, Portsmouth City Council, Civic Offices, Portsmouth PO1 2NE, quoting ref: P024-25 within 21 days of the date of this Notice (i.e. by 5th August 2025) stating the grounds for the objection. Please note that information on this consultation will be shared with Balfour Beatty, working in partnership with the City Council.
