What is happening?

SECTION 14 – THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
NOTICE OF TRAFFIC ORDERS FOR TEMPORARY ROAD AND FOOTWAY CLOSURES
Notice is given that SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL intend to make following orders:
(STRO01101 Thamesdown Drive). This Order is being introduced for UTILITY WORKS and will impose a temporary closure of the footway on Thamesdown Drive between Thursday Street and Friday Street. Pedestrian to be diverted via Thursday Street and Friday Street. The Order comes into force on the 11 August 2025 for 6 months but it is expected works will take place during 11 to 15 August 2025.
(STRO01105 Swindon Bus Station). This Order is being introduced for DEMOLITION WORKS and will impose a temporary closure of the footway on Carfax Close, Newbridge Close and Newbridge Square. Pedestrian to be diverted via Newbridge Square. The Order comes into force on the 15 August 2025 for 18 months.
(STRO01102 Chester Street Swindon). This Order is being introduced for MOBILE CRANE WORKS and will impose a prohibition of driving on Chester Street between Tennyson Street and Faringdon Road. Traffic to be diverted via Faringdon Road, Farnsbry Street, Milton Road and Tennyson Street. The Order comes into force on the 8 August 2025 for 6 months but works are expected to take place on the 8 August 2025.
(STRO01092 Overtown, Wroughton). This Order is being introduced for tree cutting works and will impose a prohibition of driving on Overtown, Wroughton, between Overtown Hill Road and Brimble Hill Road. Traffic to be diverted via Brimble Hill, Burderop, Comet Way, Parloes Farm Lane and vice versa. The Order comes into force on the 11 August 2025 for 6 months but it is expected works will take place during 11 to 15 August 2025.
(STRO01073 B4000 Shrivenham Road, Highworth) This Order is being introduced for PEDESTRIAN CROSSING WORKS and will impose a prohibition of driving on B4000 Shrivenham Road between Fox Roundabout and Stonefield Drive. Traffic to be diverted via A361, A419, A420, Townsend Road, B4000 and vice versa. The Order comes into force on the 13 August 2025 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 13 to 15 August 2025.
(STRO01033 Drove Road, Swindon). This Order is being introduced for TRAFFIC SIGNAL WORKS and will impose a prohibition of driving on Drove Road between Magic Roundabout and Dudmore Road. Traffic to be diverted via Fleming Way, Princes Street, Clarence Street, Victoria Road or Groundwell Road and vice versa. The Order comes into force on the 4 August 2025 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 4 to 22 August 2025 between the times of 19:00 to 06:00 hours.
