What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BYWAY OPEN TO ALL TRAFFIC HITCHIN 7

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council have made an Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit pedestrians, horseriders, cyclists and vehicles from using that length of Byway Open to All Traffic Hitchin 7, heading south Lavender Way to West Hill, for an approximate distance of 150m.

Alternative route: via Gaping Lane, for other users via Gaping Lane and Bedford Street.

The purpose of the Order is to enable maintenance works to take place.

The section of Byway Open to All Traffic will be closed on or after 14 July 2025 for up to 5 days, when signs are in place.

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF SWANGLEYS LANE AND OLD LANE, KNEBWORTH ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:-

1. that length of Swangleys Lane, Knebworth from a point in line with the eastern boundary of No.13 Swangleys Lane south eastwards for a distance of approximately 60m.

An alternative route will be via Swangleys Lane, B197 London Road, New Road, Hollybush Lane, Baines Lane and Swangleys Lane.

2. that length of Old Lane, Knebworth from its junction with Swangleys Lane north eastwards for a distance of approximately 22m.

An alternative route will be via Swangleys Lane, B197 London Road, Watton Road and Old Lane.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 28 July 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN BURYMEAD, STEVENAGE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all traffic from using that length of Burymead, Stevenage from a point in line with the western boundary of No.7 Burymead north eastwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 264m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Burymead.

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 28 July 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF A507 CLOTHALL ROAD AND THE B656 SOUTHBOUND SLIP ROAD LEADING ONTO A507 CLOTHALL ROAD, BALDOCK) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:--

1. that length of A507 Clothall Road, Baldock from its junction with B656 Royston Road south eastwards for a distance of approximately 30m.

An alternative route will be via B656 Whitehorse Street, B197 High Street, South Road and A507 Clothall Road.

2. the B656 southbound slip road leading onto A507 Clothall Road, Baldock from its junction with B656 Royston Road south westwards and south eastwards to its junction with A507 Clothall Road, a distance of approximately 41m.

An alternative route will be via B656 (Royston Road/Whitehorse Street), B197 High Street, South Road and A507 Clothall Road.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 28 July 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE CYCLE TRACK SITUATED BENEATH THE VALLEY WAY/BROADWATER ROAD ROUNDABOUT, STEVENAGE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedal cycles from using the cycle track situated beneath the Valley Way/Broadwater Road roundabout, Stevenage from a point 35m north west of its junction with the A602 Broadhall Way roundabout south eastwards to its junction with Broadwater Crescent, a distance of approximately 23m (“the Cycle Track”).

Pedal Cyclists will need to dismount and use the adjacent footway.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Cycle Track.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 28 July 2025 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Cycle Track.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF DEARDS END LANE, KNEBWORTH) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Deards End Lane, Knebworth from its junction with Stobarts Close north eastwards for a distance of approximately 185m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Deards End Lane, Park Lane, Station Approach, Station Road, B197 Stevenage Road and Deards End Lane.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 29 July 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CHURCH LANE, BYGRAVE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Church Lane, Bygrave from its junction with Ashwell Road south eastwards, north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with Bygrave Public Bridleway No.007, a distance of approximately 652m (“the Road”), except for access.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties on this route will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 17 July 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF 5U116 (UNNAMED ROAD), KINGS WALDEN) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of 5U116 (unnamed road), Kings Walden from its junction with Cox Green north eastwards for a distance of approximately 58m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Cox Green, Kingswell End Road and 5U116 (unnamed road).

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 15 July 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

THE HERTFORDSHIRE (MATTOCKE ROAD, HITCHIN) (PARKING PLACE) ORDER 2023

THE HERTFORDSHIRE (KINGFISHER VIEW, HITCHIN) (ONE WAY TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council has made Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (1984 Act) to introduce new restrictions in parts of Hitchin as specified in the Schedules to this Notice. The Orders will come into effect on Friday 1 August 2025.

Documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders may be viewed from 10 July 2025 to 21 August 2025 during office hours at Main Reception, County Hall, Hertford or online at www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/trafficorders by selecting North Herts and looking at Ref: NH00223.

Any person wishing to question the validity othe Orders, or any part or provisions, on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the 1984 Act or any instrument made under it, or that a requirement of the 1984 Act or any such instrument made under it has not been complied with, may within 6 weeks from the date of this Notice, apply to the High Court for this purpose.

SCHEDULE 1: 20-minutes parking place for Ambulances and Taxis no return within 40 minutes – that section of road listed below and as set out in the Order and accompanying plan – Part of Mattocke Road.

SCHEDULE 2: One way traffic – that section of road listed below and as set out in the Order and accompanying plan – Entire length of Kingfisher View.
