Rochford - Multiple Traffic Notices, Temporary Road Closures and Weight Restriction Suspensions
What is happening?

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Sutton Road, Rochford in the District of Rochford, from a point approximately 120m west of its junction with Sutton Court Road for a distance of approximately 100m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 24th July 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008EA-ROC-460-00 – Openreach).
The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole testing works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via Sutton Road, A1159, Rochford Road, Southend Road and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 3rd July 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) & (Stambridge Road, Stambridge/Rochford) (Temporary Suspension of 7.5 Tonne Weight Restriction)
(No.5) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close those lengths of road in the District of Rochford as specified in schedule 1.
To temporarily suspend the 7.5T weight restriction on that length of Stambridge Road, Stambridge/Rochford, from the junction of Weir Pond Road to the junction of Apton Hall Road a distance of approximately 4100m as cited in the “The Essex County Council (Stambridge Road, Great Stambridge/Rochford) (Weight Restriction) Order 1988” for the duration of the closures only.
A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of the carriageway as per schedule 1 and 2 to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.
“The Essex County Council (Rochford District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 3rd July 2025; exact dates will be specified on one.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.
