ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 The East Sussex (A21 Sedlescombe Road North, St Leonards-on-Sea) (Restricted Road and 40mph Speed Limit) Order 202*
NOTICE is hereby given that East Sussex County Council propose to make an Order under Sections 84 (1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and of all other enabling powers, which would amend the speed limits in the following lengths of road; Schedule One – Restricted Road
A21 Sedlescombe Road North, from a point 40 metres north of the junction with
St Leonards-on-Sea Harrow Lane northwards to a point 181 metres north of the junction with Upper Church Road.
Schedule Two – 40 mph Speed Limit
A21 Sedlescombe Road North, from a point 181 metres north of the junction with
St Leonards-on-Sea Upper Church Road northwards to a point 64 metres north of the junction with Westfield Lane.

The East Sussex (C18 Rectory Hill, Brightling) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended,
which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Rectory Hill – from the junction with C280 Cackle Street to the junction with C281 Hollingrove Hill.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C280 Cackle Street – C281 Hollingrove Lane, Hollingrove Hill and vice versa.
The Order commences 11 July 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 11 and 14 July 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended,
which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Telham Lane – from the junction with A2100 Hastings Road to the junction with C93 Forewood Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A2100 Hastings Road, Battle Road, Beauport Park roundabout, The Ridge West – A2690 Queensway – B2092 Queensway – C93 Crowhurst Road, Sandrock Hill, Crowhurst Road, Forewood Lane and vice versa.
The Order commences 11 July 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 09:00hrs to 15:00hrs between 11 and 14 July 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Collington Lane East – from the junction with B2098 Sutherland Avenue to the junction with U6532 Collington Park Crescent.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U6531 Collington Lane East – U6533 Cranston Avenue – B2098 Sutherland Avenue and vice versa.
The Order commences 24 July 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 24 and 25 July 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Castle Road – from the junction with C308 Peters Green Road to the junction with B2244 Hawkhurst Road.

The Order commences 28 July 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier.
