What is happening?

EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

The East Sussex (C483 Burnt Oak Road, Burnt Oak, Stone Cross, Crowborough) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Burnt Oak Road – from the junction with C483 Fordbrook Hill to the junction with U7487 Stone Cross Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C483 Alice Bright Lane – C11 Fermor Road, Walshes Road, Hadlow Down Road – C483 Fordbrook Hill and vice versa.

The Order commences 14 July 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 14 July 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (A267 Little London Road, Heathfield/Horam)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 No.2

To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Little London Road – from the junction with A267 Cross in Hand Road to the junction with B2203 High Street.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2203 High Street, Maynards Green Road, Hailsham Road, Tower Street – A265 Mutton Hall Hill, High Street, Cross in Hand Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 13 July 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 13 July 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C14 Fletching Street, Mayfield)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 No.2

To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Fletching Street – from the junction with U7577 The Avenue to the junction with C14 Coggins Mill Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C14 Coggins Mill Lane – C568 Lake Street – A267 Tunbridge Wells Road, Argos Hill, Tunbridge Wells Road – C14 Tunbridge Wells Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 16 July 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 16 July 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (A275 Cooksbridge Road, Cooksbridge)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow Network Rail to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Cooksbridge Road – from the junction with C6 Beechwood Lane to the junction with U5068 Chandlers Mead.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A275 Cooksbridge Road, Resting Oak Hill, South Road – C323 Mill Lane, Honeypot Lane – C6 South Road – C110 Station Road, Plumpton Lane – B2116 Ditchling Road – A275 Cooksbridge Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 16 July 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 22:00hrs to 06:00hrs between 16 and 18 July 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7563 Swife Lane, Broad Oak, Heathfield)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 No.2

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Swife Lane – from the junction with U7564 Springhall Lane to the junction with U7565 Knowle Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7563 Swife Lane – C211 Witherenden Road, Waterloo Road – C214 Witherenden Hill, Swing Gate Hill – A265 Heathfield Road – U7564 Little Park Farm Road, Springhall Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 17 July 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 17 and 21 July 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (B2192 Ringmer Road/Lewes Road/The Broyle/Terrible Down Road/Lewes Road, Ringmer & Halland)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Ringmer Road/Lewes Road/The Broyle/Terrible Down Road/Lewes Road – from the junction with A26 Uckfield Road to the junction with A22 Eastbourne Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A22 Eastbourne Road, Uckfield bypass, Little Horsted roundabout – A26 Lewes Road, Rose Hill, Uckfield Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 16 July 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 20:00hrs to 06:00hrs between 16 and 19 July 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.
